We seek to create and sustain spaces where knowledge, experiences, and collective strategies can be shared, with the aim of embedding agroecology and food sovereignty in our communities.

Vision

We envision the flourishing and growth of food sovereignty, the social and organizational fabric, and collective well-being in rural and urban communities across western and southern Puerto Rico.

Mission

We seek to expand and strengthen collective initiatives and agroecological networks through practical training, political education, exchanges of knowledge and experiences, and farmer-to-farmer processes, building local connections in Puerto Rico and international partnerships with other organizations and social and agri-food movements.

Our organizational principles

Solidarity and Mutual Support

We foster solidarity and collaboration among producers, communities, and social movements to build support networks that strengthen our collective capacity for resistance and transformation.

Socio-environmental Justice

We advocate for equality and justice in the relationships between people and with nature, rejecting the exploitation of resources and peoples, while working towards an equilibrium that benefits all living beings.

Intersectional Justice

We believe in creating spaces where all voices, especially those of historically marginalized groups such as women, Afro-descendant individuals, and members of the LGBTTQ+ community, are respected and actively participate in the decision-making processes of agroecological initiatives.

Food Sovereignty and

We strive for the right of peoples to control their food production and distribution systems, promoting agricultural practices that foster self-sufficiency and local sustainability.

Decolonization

We call for the recovery and defense of the knowledge, agricultural practices, and social relationships that are unique to our culture, resisting the colonial structures that have sought to impose extractivist and dependency-based models in Borikén (Puerto Rico).

Popular Education

We promote an agroecological education that is participatory, horizontal, and contextual, aimed at empowering communities with the necessary knowledge to transform their reality and defend their territories.
